Hardeep Kataria

OD, FAAO

Hardeep Kataria OD FAAO graduated from the New England College of Optometry and completed her residency in Ocular Disease at the VAMC in Baltimore, MD. Throughout her training, she had the privilege to train with top optometrists and ophthalmologists at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami and Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University learning and growing in the ocular disease space. After working as an associate practicing medical glaucoma and advanced ocular surface disease, she went onto open her own venture, Avant Eyes Optometry and Advanced Dry Eye Center in Porter Ranch, CA. She now focuses on ocular surface disease management with a special interest in neurotrophic keratitis and biologics application for advanced disease states. She is passionate about teaching others on various topics of ocular surface disease and contributes at national conferences every year.

Driven by her motivation to educate, teach and give back, she volunteered in Nicaragua and Panama through Vision Optometric Humanitarian Services (VOSH), providing vision care and glasses to the underprivileged communities. She also established a local volunteer eye clinic in Los Angeles in association with the Salvation Army and Rotary Club. She had the pleasure of serving as Adjunct Faculty at the Western University College of Optometry, teaching optometric doctorate candidates the fundamentals of identifying ocular disease in a community health center.

Dr Kataria is an active Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and loves to teach colleagues through writing and lecturing nationally. She currently serves as an Editorial Board Member of several optometric publications.
